Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year!
Whether you're beginning your first year as a school counselor or your thirtieth, thank you for the countless ways you support, advocate for, and inspire Kentucky students every day. I hope summer allowed you the opportunity to rest, recharge, and reflect. It is truly an honor to serve as President of the Kentucky School Counselor Association and to walk alongside such a dedicated community of professionals.
This year, our theme, "Illuminate the Path: Counselors as Beacons of Hope," reminds us that school counselors are often the steady light students and families need. Like a lighthouse, we provide guidance, hope, and reassurance, helping students navigate challenges and discover their own path forward.
KSCA is here to support you throughout the year. As a member, you'll have opportunities to earn more than 21 hours of EILA credit through professional development, connect with colleagues through affinity groups, explore leadership opportunities through our Emerging Leaders Program, and serve alongside fellow counselors on one of our many committees.
I also hope you'll join us this fall for the 2026 KSCA Conference in Lexington. Together, we'll learn, grow, and celebrate the incredible work happening in schools across the Commonwealth. From inspiring keynote speakers and engaging breakout sessions to meaningful connections with colleagues, there's something for everyone.
Thank you for being a beacon of hope for Kentucky students and families. I look forward to learning alongside you and working together to continue shining brighter for Kentucky's future.
Wishing you a wonderful school year!
