President's LetterHello, I am Gina Crabtree, and I am so proud to serve as the Kentucky School Counseling Association’s president. When I joined the board five years ago, I never dreamed I would be serving in this role; however, being surrounded by such supportive and talented counselors, you all make this job easy! This year our theme is “Unmasking Heroes.” We can all agree that last year was one of the most trying, and what lies ahead is unclear. However, hearing from so many of you this past year, and seeing all of the amazing things you are doing, it is only fitting that this year’s theme celebrate you- our heroes! It is amazing to see how so many of you stepped out from behind the background, and took a leading role in helping kids heal from a nationwide pandemic. This was uncharted territory, and you all did it! It became clear who the real heroes were in your building, and that is YOU! My goal for this year is that you see me, not just as your president, but your friend! I want to help you continue to lead the course for change in this state, and in this country. My passion is helping counselors find their voice in a sometimes lonely role. I want you to feel confident leading and participating in this organization as well. Please reach out if you are passionate about serving on the board, and helping us to continue to support counselors. Gina Crabtree 2022-2023 KSCA President I want to help you continue to lead the course for change in this state, and in this country. |
